In
1991 Annie's Cheesecake was started in the basement kitchen of the home of
Mary Ann and Dan Richards. The name Annie is out of the memory of her
father that always called Mary Ann "Annie" as she was growing up.
Annie started selling her cheesecakes at The Lancaster Festival in 1991,
out of a pushcart that was made by her husband. The pushcart that started
the business is now located in our gift area. From there the business grew
to a large concession trailer in 1993. From that point it was clear that
Annie needed a more permanent base, so on March 7, 1995 Annie's Cheesecake & Tea Room was
established at 539 E. Main Street
in Lancaster, Ohio.
In 5 years it was clear that Annie had out grown the little red and white
house, so a decision was made to move to her current location. With
expanded kitchen and dining areas and the addition of a gift area, Annie's
is able to offer a full range of services. From unique dining such as
breakfast, lunch and now evening dinners, to our carry out, box lunches,
made to order pies, cakes and cookies, and a full range of other menu items
for your dine in pleasure or to go orders.
